Juventus Defender Nicola Legrottaglie In Celtic Link But Cesena Seem Favourites To Land Him

Cesena appear in line to swoop for Legrottaglie despite late Celtic attempt.
Celtic have joined the race for out-of-favour Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie, who is not short of Italian admirers.

Both La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport are reporting the 34-year-old as wanting to try a foreign experience - following up on previous reports in the UK which claimed a link had been sparked up at the start of January.

However, since the initial association with the Bhoys, Cesena, Bari and a hoard of other Italian sides have been backed to take him on.

Sky Sport Italia claims Cesena look closest to Legrottaglie, who is seen as a proxy for Yuto Nagatomo - the Japanese defender on loan from FC Tokyo who has been linked with Milan.

"He is being followed by many, but the decision is Cesena's. He is happy at Cesena, but the last word is with the club," Nagatomo's agent Roberto Takuda told Calciomercato.it.

The Italian has featured little in Juve's plans this season, and he was excluded from the team who lost to Roma in the Coppa Italia.
