Neuton close to signing Udinese deal

The 21-year-old centre-back is reportedly just inches away from a move to the Italian club in a €2 million switch.
Gremio defender Neuton is close to completing a switch to Udinese, the Italian club's representative in Brazil has revealed.

The Brazilian youngster has been strongly linked with a move to the Serie A side in the past days after the two clubs reportedly concurred on a €2 million deal.

Luciano Ramalho, who represents Udinese in Brazil, claims the only pending issues will be handled by Neuton's agent, Fabiano Carpegiani, during a trip to Italy later in the week.

"Everything between the clubs is settled. Only bureaucracy is left, because there is the agent's percentage of the deal, and also the player's," Ramalho told Globoesporte.

It is thought Carpegiani will fly to Italy on Wednesday, making it likely that Udinese will announce the transfer before the weekend.

Sir Alex Ferguson rules out Manchester United move for Samir Nasri

The Red Devils boss has quashed rumours surrounding the Frenchman's potential transfer to Old Trafford, but believes the midfielder may have agreed to join another club.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out a move for Arsenal's Samir Nasri this summer.



The French international midfielder has been heavily linked with a transfer away from the Emirates Stadium with United and neighbours Manchester City both believed to be interested in the player.

The Scot does not expect Nasri to arrive at Old Trafford before the close of the transfer window, but did suggest the 24-year-old may be bound for another club.

"Nasri, no," Ferguson said at a press conference on United's pre-season tour of America. "I don't think he's coming to United.

"I think he's agreed to go somewhere else. Maybe he has to stay at Arsenal too. That's a possibility."

The Premier League champions were rumoured to be interested in Nasri following the retirement of Paul Scholes, a player Ferguson has conceded is almost impossible to replace.

"How do you replace somebody like Paul Scholes? It's very difficult," he said.

"If you bracket four of the best midfield players in the world he'd be alongside Xavi and Iniesta and then you take your pick. In my mind he's one of the top four players in the world.

"How will we overcome it? Maybe the next few weeks will help us overcome it. Maybe somebody will emerge out of the youth team or one of the young players emerge, and then we carry on."

The Champions League finalists have also been linked with a move for Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder, though new boss Gian Piero Gasperini is hopeful the Dutchman, who is happy at San Siro, will stay with the club.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, is also confident Nasri will remain with his current club, alongside Barcelona target Cesc Fabregas.

Alexander Doni set to undergo medical at Liverpool

The Brazilian's transfer initially broke down after a failure to agree personal terms, but the deal is close to being completed and the 31-year-old is due at Anfield on Tuesday.
Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni is set for a medical at Liverpool on Tuesday, according to reports.



Sky Sports News suggests the Brazilian is now on the verge of completing his move to Anfield, after initial attempts to sign the 31-year-old were unsuccessful due to a failure to agree personal terms.

Doni is now due to sign for Kenny Dalglish's side this week however, despite the bulk of the playing squad and staff jetting off to Asia on a pre-season tour.

The player's agent also explained on Friday that he believed the Brazilian would join the club this week.

Doni is expected to provide experienced back-up to the long-term Anfield goalkeeper Pepe Reina, while his arrival could spell the end of Brad Jones' short Liverpool career.

Jones was loaned out to Championship side Derby County towards the end of last season, and could leave the club permanently this summer after just one season on Merseyside.

Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero is close to agreeing a one-year extension with the club as his brother and agent Stefano meets Giuseppe Marotta to close business.

Goal.com Italia reports Del Piero's brother will discuss the new deal further.

The striker's pay will start off on €1 million per annum, but could rise depending on the level of success achieved.

There is a feeling of optimism at Vinovo, with Del Piero ready to pen a 2012 deal.

Del Piero has been at the club since 1993 when he was signed by Giampiero Boniperti from Padova.

Juve are not willing to let him go easily, and they are working hard to keep him there beyond his current June 2011 terms.

Mbark Boussoufa has yet to make a decision about his future at Anderlecht.
Highly rated midfielder Mbark Boussoufa has admitted that he has yet to make a decision about his future at Belgian titleholders Anderlecht.

The 26-year-old was initially expected to decide on his next step in January, but he needs more time and will have a meeting with the Anderlecht chairman on Friday.

"I'm not sure yet when I'll make a decision about my future. This is a really difficult decision for me. I'll meet the chairman on Friday to talk about the situation," Boussoufa was quoted as saying by Le Soir.

"It's very well possible that I won't make a decision until June. I have already given it a lot of thoughts, but it's really hard.

"It's not like I'm afraid that I'll have to prove myself all over again if I join a new club. I'll always have to prove my worth, even if I stay with Anderlecht. I'm not afraid to leave the club for an adventure abroad."

Boussoufa's current contract with Anderlecht runs until the summer of 2012 and the Brussels side are ready to cash in on their playmaker this summer if he doesn't sign a new deal.
