Barcelona are believed to be prepared to test Tottenham Hotspur's determination to keep Gareth Bale at White Hart Lane by lodging a £40 million bid for the wide man in the summer.
The 21-year-old has been in the form of his life this season, having successfully established himself at Spurs through strong performances on both the domestic and European stages.
The north London club have so far been adamant that their prized asset is not for sale at any price, but The Mirror reports that Barca still intend to test that resolve by putting in a £40m bid for the left-footed player in the summer.
It has been reported that even the hint of a sale would spark offers for Bale from AC Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
