Milan Consider Cagliari Goalkeeper Federico Marchetti For June Transfer

Milan's market may have been closed by Adriano Galliani, but work continues for future campaigns.
Milan see out-of-favour Cagliari goalkeeper Federico Marchetti as an accession for the future as they line up a summer move.

Adriano Galliani put a lock on the January transfer market following the arrival of Didac Vila on Friday, but 27-year-old Marchetti appeals.

Quotidiano.net claims that the Italian shot-stopper may join Milan in June as the clubs have already reached an agreement over a transfer.

Marchetti has not played in Serie A for Cagliari this season and has become the third choice in Sardinia.

He is unlikely to accept being on the outer edges of the comfort zone following the exclusions, and would be happy to leave.

Genoa were said to be close to Marchetti who is seen as a proxy to Eduardo who has looked unreliable this season.

Last week Cagliari president Massimo Cellino said Genoa were "close", but the move seems to have fizzled out.
