Marco Branca has stated that Spurs want a massive transfer fee to sell Bale.
Inter director Marco Branca has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur want more than £40 million for Gareth Bale.
This week British newspaper the Guardian revealed in an exclusive that the Italian and European champions were contemplating a £40m bid for the Wales international in the summer, but Branca said in a press conference on Saturday that Spurs want more than that sum.
“The day before that story came out, I received a text message from the president (sic) of Tottenham [Daniel Levy] telling me the figures were lower than his real price-tag,” explained Branca.
“Tottenham want more than £40m for Bale so he is certainly a player that we like and are monitoring, but the price is not compatible with our club policy.”
He also addressed the Benemata's other transfer objectives, “We are working to bring Feyenoord striker Luc Castaignos to San Siro straight away; otherwise he will arrive in June, which I think is more likely.
“Kharja is on loan from Genoa, but we told the lad that we hope he can stay beyond June. Riccardo Montolivo? We’ll see in June.
“However, we never went after Mirko Vucinic.”
