England Coach Fabio Capello: Tottenham's Gareth Bale Is Player Of The Season So Far

Italian likens winger to a "big explosion".
England manager Fabio Capello believes that Tottenham Hotspur wide-man Gareth Bale is the player of the season thus far.

The Welsh winger has continued his fine form of the last half of last season and translated domestic dominance onto the European stage.

The 21-year-old has silenced many, if not all, of his critics by putting in stellar performances in the Premier League and Champions League, with his two games against current European champions Inter arguably being the standout solo performances of the season.

Former Juventus and Real Madrid boss Capello is just one of the many leading figures in the game to have been impressed by the Spurs sensation.

"He is my player of the season so far," said Capello, according to The Guardian.

"For me he is a fantastic player because when you prepare for a game you have to prepare to defend when he receives the ball.

"He is a big explosion, physically. But he is also so good technically. Every pass, every cross, every time, he is dangerous. He is so dangerous for opponents because he runs so fast with the ball."
