Marco Materazzi has taken a bash at Milan's winter spending.
Marco Materazzi has said Inter's resurgence in form forced Milan into submission on the transfer market.
The Rossoneri were sprightly on the transfer market as they signed Antonio Cassano, Urby Emanuelson, Mark Van Bommel and Didac Villa in January.
And the Italian defender has said Milan only did so because they are scared Inter will overhaul them in the title race.
"If Milan strengthened then it is because they are scared of us," Materazzi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"We have to get to the derby being close with them and with the spirit of changing what happened in the last game."
Materazzi also hinted at his ambition to see Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho return to the helm.
"Mourinho return? It is a question for the club, but having him back alongside Leonardo would be great."
