Diego Simeone: We Played Well For 50 Minutes Against Milan

Simeone was disappointed with Catania’s second half display against Milan.
Diego Simeone is still searching for his first win since taking charge of Catania earlier this month as the Elefanti slumped to a 2-0 defeat to ten-man Milan at the Stadio Angelo Massimino.
After a drab first half, Rossoneri midfielder Mark Van Bommel was sent off in the 54th minute and the tide looked to have swung in Catania’s favour. However, goals from Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic handed the Argentine coach his second loss in as many matches.

Simeone was not pleased with his players’ display after Van Bommel was dismissed and vowed his team would bounce back from the setback.

"We played well for 50 minutes tonight," he told reporters after the game. "The boys did everything they could but didn't have the legs in the second half.

"We will work hard in the coming weeks," he concluded.

Catania are winless in their last five Serie A matches and hover just three points above the relegation zone.
