After a summer long battle, Boca Juniors will finally secure the signature of Walter Erviti after agreeing a transfer with Banfield.
The drawn out transfer saga between Boca Juniors, Banfield and Walter Erviti appears to be drawing to a close with a happy ending for Boca, who had an improved offer for the playmaker accepted yesterday evening.
The 30-year-old's move had appeared to be dead in the water after Banfield repeatedly rejected advances for the player, who has been one of the best creative talents in the league since moving back to Argentina from Mexico's Monterrey. Xeneixe coach Julio Cesar Falcioni however was insistent on bringing in his former charge from the Taladro, and Ole reports that in a meeting held in the early hours of Friday morning Boca finally upped their bid to a figure deemed acceptable.
The player will move to the Bombonera for a fee of $3.2 million, and will present himself tomorrow at the club for a medical and to sign a contract. Erviti had consistently maintained that he wanted to rejoin Falcioni at his new club, and the player's insistence appears to have swayed the Banfield directors who initially ruled out any suggestion of a sale.
