Barcelona defender Carles Puyol claims knee problem is 'getting better' as he looks to return to action.
Barcelona defender Carles Puyol has claimed that the tendonitis problem that is currently keeping him sidelined is “getting better” with each passing day.

The Spanish international stopper had to be replaced during Saturday’s comfortable win over Racing, complaining of pain in his left knee.

Club doctors confirmed that tendonitis was the cause of the 32-year-old’s discomfort, and that the injury would need to be monitored to ensure that the problem did not worsen.

In his own personal blog however, Puyol remarked: “As far as my injury is concerned, it is better, after a week of rest, and it is feeling better.”

The stopper also praised the team for their performance in the win over Almeria in the Copa del Rey, and that he is looking forward to the final.

He added: “We achieved a very good result, 5-0, and we have a little step in order to reach the final, which I always say is one of the most beautiful games played because of the number of fans who turn out to watch the team.”
