Chelsea Boss Carlo Ancelotti Claims Striker Didier Drogba Can Play With Anybody, Including Fernando Torres

After a sensational bid for Liverpool's Fernando Torres, Chelsea manger Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that his own striker Didier Drogba could play with anybody, including the Spanish forward.

The London club offered a reported £35 million on Thursday, which Liverpool quickly rejected and followed by stating that the player was not for sale.

Ancelotti was at talking on Friday ahead of his team's FA Cup game against Everton at the weekend but wasn't divulging any information on the affair.

The Italian said: "I know very well what my club is doing now. I always said I only speak about my players.

"Torres is not my player so I don't want to say what club is doing at the moment. It is the same with David Luiz.

"I don't want to speak about this. You have to ask the club. I have to respect Liverpool.

"He's not my player. This is the reason I don't want to speak. I don't want to explain. I don't have to speak. He's not my player. I have to stay in focus on my players."
The secretive boss also expressed that he was not surprised that Chelsea have seemingly gone against their plans to spend modestly this January.

He added: "I'm not surprised because I know what the club is doing. So I am not surprised.

"The club is doing a fantastic job in this transfer market. I think the club is trying to do everything to improve the squad.

"Drogba doesn't have a problem. In general, Drog can play with anybody, including Torres. He doesn't have a problem."

Ancelotti was also on hand to sympathise with his counterpart at Blackpool, Ian Holloway after he was issued with a £25,000 fine after fielding a weakened team against Aston Villa last November.

"I read what has happened and for me this fine is ridiculous," said Ancelotti. "Holloway knows his team very well and knows what players to play.

"It is ridiculous to fine the club because the coach must make the choice. It's ridiculous. I hope he doesn't pay the fine. I don't know if he has to pay but if they gave me that fine I wouldn't pay it. For this reason. I wouldn't pay it."
