Mallorca president Jaume Cladera unhappy with scheduling of Athletic Bilbao clash on Monday evening.
Mallorca president Jaume Cladera has voiced his displeasure at his team being forced to play their match against Athletic Bilbao on Monday evening.

Cladera feels that the Islanders have featured in the Primera Division’s Monday match enough occasions already this season.

“Mallorca has already filled their quota of matches on a Monday," he told the club's official website.

“It will be the fifth Monday the team has played this season, and we play again versus Athletic, in what is a very important match for us, because we need the support of our fans. We owe a TV operator that has a substantial amount of power, the decision to change the matches.

He continued, “This is not a protest, because I hate that term, but we think we have met our quota and now it's up to the others. All teams must play the same amount.

“It is a significant prejudice to play on a Monday, we need the warmth of our fans, and at [21.00 CET] on a Monday means that many youngsters cannot come.”
