PSV Sign Brazilian Midfielder Gerson On Loan From Botafogo

PSV have added Gerson from Botafogo to their squad on a six-month loan deal.
Eredivisie table toppers PSV have completed the transfer of versatile youngster Gerson Guimaraes Ferreira from Brazilian side Botafogo on loan. The Eindhoven giants have confirmed on their official website that the holding midfielder has signed a six-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old Gerson played several tournaments in the Netherlands with Botafogo and did enough to impress the PSV scouts. They first made a move for the midfielder in the January transfer window and have now completed the necessary paperwork.

Botafogo will continue to pay the youngster's wages until the end of the season. PSV's sporting director Marcel Brands revealed on the club's website that PSV have an option to purchase the player at the end of the season.

Gerson, who also has an EU passport, is expected to arrive in Holland by the end of this week.
