Ambrosini faces an eight-week spell on the sidelines.
Milan have been dealt a huge blow with news that Massimo Ambrosini will be out for six to eight weeks.
The 33-year-old midfielder recently suffered a thigh strain in his right leg and tests have now revealed that he will be out of all action for up to two months.
“There is a second grade lesion in the right thigh muscle," Milan stated on their official website. "The prognosis is six to eight weeks."
Milan currently top the Serie A table but have suffered a rash of injuries this season, with Clarence Seedorf, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Gianluca Zambrotta, Marco Amelia, Rodney Strasser, Nicola Legrottaglie and Filippo Inzaghi all on the sidelines.
