Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli Admits He Will Tinker In Germany Experiment

Cassano and Pazzini will get 45 minutes before Prandelli rings in the changes at half-time.
Cesare Prandelli sees the Germany friendly as a test for Italy's future matches as he experiments to get his team balanced.

The coach admits he will make several changes during tonight's game in Dortmund to tweak and gain an idea as to how to sharpen his team.

"I will make changes as there are players who have played seven games in the last 20 days, and so I need to keep track of the time," Prandelli told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Players like Riccardo Montolivo, Stefano Mauri and Antonio Cassano start because they were on the bench at the weekend.

"I will also change the two strikers after 45 minutes. It's right for me to see a reasonable half of a team who will play an official match in less than two months."

Giorgio Chiellini has been shifted to left-back, a role Prandelli feels he will prosper in.

"I think he can become even stronger in that role. We have spoken about it and even his club [Juventus] have realised this could be his role for the future."
