Brazil midfielder Hernanes could not hide his grief after being shown a red card in an international friendly against France.
Brazil midfielder Hernanes could not hide is disappointment after being sent off late in the first-half the Selecao's international friendly match against France.
The Lazio player believed referee Wolfgang Stark was too harsh to pull the red card out his pocket for landing a boot to the chest of Karim Benzema in the 38th minute.
"I though the referee was strict," Hernanes told Globoesporte after the match. "He could give considered it to have been my first foul during the match, and given me a warning of some sort.
"Instead, he gave me a straight red [card]. I spoke too him after the match, and things were cleared up.
"Now, we must move forward," he added.
The 25-year-old will not be available for coach Mano Menezes to select when the Samba Kings take on Holland in a friendly in June prior to the Copa America opener against Venezuela.
