Red Bull Salzburg coach Huub Stevens has made it clear Wolfsburg have not contacted him.
Red Bull Salzburg coach Huub Stevens has made it clear that he has not been in touch with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg about the vacant position of head coach.
The Woelfe are looking for a new coach because of the departure of Steve McClaren earlier this week and Stevens is believed to be one of the top candidates for the job. Wolfsburg appointed Pierre Littbarski as caretaker boss until the end of the season and are now looking for a permanent replacement.
"There is nothing to say about Wolfsburg, because there has not even been an inquiry. I have a contract until 2012 anyway and am giving it my best in Salzburg," Stevens was quoted as saying by Kicker.
"Dieter Hoeness last called me to congratulate me on my birthday, but that was at the end of November. We only talked about our families and did not say a word about Wolfsburg."
Former Hoffenheim coach Ralf Rangnick is also believed to be in the frame for the position of Wolfsburg gaffer.
