Sami Khedira speaks to Goal.com about his performance for Germany against Italy, and about Real Madrid.
Germany midfielder Sami Khedira has claimed that playing 90 minutes in the 1-1 international draw against Italy on Wednesday evening sent a message to Real Madrid that he is at full match sharpness.

The energetic former Stuttgart man was a vital element of the national team as they drew with the Azzurri, with the 23-year-old competing the entire match.

Speaking exclusively to Goal.com Germany after the match, Khedira commented: “I have not had any problems tonight. That is why I indicated to the coach that I could play 90 minutes. I wanted to signal to Real that I am fit and well.”

He also discussed his midfield partnership with Bastian Schweinsteiger, and refuted claims that the pair are too similar to play together in the centre of the German midfield.

He continued: “Bastian and I have shown often enough that we can play together. In the second half, we have done better than we did in the first half. We wanted to attack, and we have done better than Italy, even if in the end the result does not show that.”
