Marques will not be available for two months as he recovers from injury.
Parma midfielder Fernando Marques will be out for approximately two months after undergoing an operation, according to La Repubblica.
The former Rayo Vallecano star had an injury diagnosed as adductor tendinopathy and it was decided the best course of action was surgery to repair the damage. The player went under the knife at the Quiron clinic in Barcelona.
The Gialloblu, who currently lie four points above the relegation zone, will have to make do without the 26-year-old's services until April.
The versatile Spaniard has played 13 times in Serie A this season, often as part of a three-man attack, since joining in the summer after a one-year stint at Espanyol in La Liga.
Parma succumbed to 1-0 defeat to Lecce on Wednesday evening.
